This part-time, paid internship is designed to provide you with critical experience, while providing real and immediate value to the University. For this reason the hours/schedule (10-20 hours a week) is flexible and will work around your school schedule and other commitments.

Based at our Madison, WI campus, this is a contributing role to the Herzing Corporate Marketing Team; helping across multiple projects by putting into practice the theories and concepts you've learned thus far in school.

The ideal candidate will be customer service driven with an entrepreneurial spirit who takes initiative and ownership of projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with social media strategy, including managing and creating Facebook content calendars, production of video and image content
  • Assist in the writing, design, production, and distribution of marketing and communications materials. This includes social media, advertising, print collateral, print & digital ads, nurturing campaigns, web and content
  • Ensure a creative yet consistent design that adheres to and supports the Herzing University brand, visual identity, and messaging standards across all media
  • Oversee and coordinate projects within the marketing team
  • Assist with social media and campaign efforts
  • Author and develop creative briefs
  • Assist in developing and managing marketing content library
  • Collaborate across the organization to capture new content and help ensure message compliance
  • Confer with team members and stakeholders concerning all aspects of projects, including expectations of design, turnaround time and approvals

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or Journalism, or possibly Business; Junior or Senior status preferred
  • Experience with social media platforms, brand messaging and website content
  • Experience working with analytics and drafting reports
  • Experience working with management dashboards such as Hootsuite, Sprout, or Buffer
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of core marketing and branding concepts
  • Exceptional written and communication skills and ability to interact comfortably with a wide variety of audiences
  • Strong proofreading skills; must be committed to accuracy
  • Proficient skills in the Adobe Creative Suite software and Microsoft Office
