Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Principal Gifts Officer, the position will be responsible for helping to plan, coordinate and implement the individual Major Donor Program to help meet the organization s major gifts fundraising goals and build the individual donor base.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s Degree required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Team player and willingness to assist colleagues when needed.

Preferred:

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of major gifts fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization, strongly preferred.
  • Experience of having achieved annual fundraising goals from five and six figure donors, strongly preferred.
  • Events experience is a plus.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages and tracks a portfolio of 65 donors and prospective donors. Implements and executes a plan to engage these donors and potential donors and to renew and increase their support.
  • Staffs physician leaders on the identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors and prospects on a service line-based approach to fundraising.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of cultivation events (venue, catering, invitation, speaker, and remarks).
  • Qualifies prospective donors for cultivation and solicitation by Trustees, the Vice President of Development, and C-Suite executives at the Medical Center.
  • Provides direct support staffing for major donor related responsibilities (scheduling meetings, tours, and donor communications).
  • Assists with preparing case statements, gift tables, briefings, proposals, and lists of giving and naming opportunities and other collateral materials for priority initiatives at the Medical Center.
  • Partners with three additional Major Gift Officers, the Principal Gifts Officer, and Vice President of Development on a successful major gift program.
  • Works succinctly and efficiently as part of a 12-person fundraising office.
