Job Overview:
Neurology Technologist assist physicians with EMG s, perform EEG s, Evoked Potential Studies and Transcranial Doppler Studies for both inpatients and outpatients. The EEG technician has intimate knowledge of functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology. Principles of mathematics and electronics are applied to provide accurate recordings, record duration of waveforms, and compute voltage and frequency waveforms.

Essential Functions:
Intimate knowledge of functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
Verifies physician order prior to administering test procedure.
Obtains pertinent information as to patient status to assist neurologist interpretation and feasibility of study.
Prepares and instructs patient on procedure.
Performs procedure according to policy.
Follows proper electrode placement and removal process to obtain high quality neuro-diagnostic data.
Complies with infection control policies.
