Job Description

We're expanding our marketing department, adding an additional sales proposal writer to our team. It's a writing- and detail-intensive position, so we're looking for a creative, careful writer who is good with long-form writing, project management, and hard deadlines.

Our New Sales Proposal Writer Will …

  • Answer between 25 and 40 RFPs a year
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts, write the RFP responses, and finalize them for submission
  • Use several content management systems that assist in proposal creation and organization
  • Proof and edit proposals and presentations from fellow sales writers and salespeople
  • Assist the marketing team with copywriting unrelated to proposals as needed. (Between 5% and 20% of the job, depending on the time of year and RFP workload.)
  • Join a proposal writing team of 3, a sales and marketing team of 20+, and a corporate team of over 550

We're Looking for a Writer With …

  • 2-4 years' experience in paid writing work. RFP or long-form (20,000+ words) experience preferred, but not necessary
  • 2-4 years' experience on a creative team. Whether a marketing firm or college newspaper, any experience working with editorial, sales, and graphics teams will be a strong plus
  • Strong computer skills. The proposal team uses complex software for writing, publishing, and content management. An ability to master new, idiosyncratic software is necessary
  • Writing Portfolio. Along with your application, please submit your writing portfolio or a few pieces that showcase your writing skills

Our Pay, Perks, and Benefits

  • Salary between $55-60K, depending on experience
  • Hybrid in-office/remote schedule after 90 days. The writing team's in-office workplace is in Cherry Hill, NJ. The standard schedule is three days in office, two remote
  • 176 hours (22 days) of PTO for first-year employees, plus 16 hours of "volunteer time off" if the employee wants to take off for public service work, plus 9 paid holidays
  • 4 weeks paid paternal leave
  • 401(k) and health benefits
  • Diverse growth and professional development opportunities

All qualified applicants are invited to apply. For consideration, please respond with a cover letter that includes salary requirements, a link to your portfolio or writing samples, and your resume.
