Overview | Project Description: A multidisciplinary team of three primary universities (Rutgers University, University of Michigan, and Brigham Young University), experts from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and two international collaborators (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU, and Technical University of Denmark, TUD) recently won an award from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) Aerodynamic Turbines Lighter and Afloat with Nautical Technologies and Integrated Servo-control (ATLANTIS) Program. Our project is one of 13 new projects to develop new technologies for floating offshore wind turbines, or wind farms, using the discipline of control co-design.
