Organization & Department Overview

The ICG Chief Data Office (CDO) is critical to managing Citigroup's businesses and to meet multiple regulatory and management reporting requirements. The ICG CDO partners with Citigroup's Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO), ICG businesses, operations & technology, as well as Global Functions including Finance, Risk, and Compliance in an enterprise-wide data quality management discipline continuously striving to improve, monitor, measure, and control data quality. This team's remit also includes delivering project management, business analysis, and strategic planning services leading to improved controls and efficiencies in infrastructure and operational processes.

The ICG CDO is responsible for planning, implementation, communications, training, compliance monitoring, and establishment of Citigroup's Controlled Data Management Environment supporting our Enterprise Information Assets. The Data Governance Officers are also responsible for data governance activities for their Business or Global Function on behalf of Senior Management.

This is a Senior Vice President (SVP) role within the ICG CDO organization and will be responsible for leading workstreams for project management of ICG CDO related to the Consent Order. This position will interface with Global Functions (Finance, Risk, Operations and Compliance), Lines of Business and Technology.

Job Description

  • Deliver and maintain a cohesive front-to-back project plan and artefacts among varied stakeholders (e.g., operations, technology, front office, compliance, legal, etc.)
  • Proactively manage risks, issues and dependencies, escalating as required
  • Establish business and data requirements that align with commitments to external regulators working across different ICG businesses & Functions and in conjunction with ECDO
  • Establish clear benefits case to demonstrate risk reduction and value creation of delivery
  • Prepare and report progress to working groups, steering committees, and executives to ensure delivery of reg commitments
  • Manage ad-hoc requests, upcoming projects, status preparation and communications for deliverables
  • Identifies key risks, whether stated or not, and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of experience defining and implementing data quality projects in a large global bank or Big Four consulting firm.
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in a project management experience
  • Able to leverage strong business acumen to effectively interact with senior leaders and a broad variety of stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams through direct and matrix reporting lines.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and able to respond to changes in priorities
  • Strong executive presence; confident in presenting a balanced view to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Proven successful track record of navigating operations and technology organizations, effective communication to senior leadership and driving results across global organizations
  • Experience in global markets and corporate trade processing front-to-back, capital markets, operations, and support & control areas preferred
  • Experienced in business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, business systems development and analysis
  • Experienced in consulting with project stakeholders and subject matter experts (SME), including the skills to facilitate compromises, resolve conflicting requirements, and manage competing priorities
  • Experienced in working across technology and business projects and managing inter-dependencies between them
  • Data oriented with excellent attention to detail and strong data analysis skills
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions, and be assertive while promoting a collaborative and partnering environment
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to work with global teams
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Ability to give focused attention to details and deliver high quality work while managing competing priorities under pressure
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency of MS Office
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related disciple preferred or equivalent experience in related field
