Traffic Engineer/Project Manager

Dewberry is looking for a Traffic Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering, and at least 5 to 10+ years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering to provide support in the NY/NJ metropolitan area. This is an excellent opportunity to lead, mentor, and be part of a growing team of traffic engineers. Qualified candidates should be familiar with conducting traffic analysis/studies utilizing Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS etc. Vissim/AIMSUN and similar analysis tools a plus. Traffic Signal and Intersection design experience is a plus. Familiarity with local agencies including: NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, NJTA, NYCEDC, NYCDDC, MTA and TBTA is preferred. Experience in leading tasks, leading project teams, preparing technical and cost proposals, and understanding of QA/QC procedures is desirable. Strong verbal and written skills are required. PE registration is desirable.

Responsibilities
    Lead and/or conduct traffic engineering tasks including, traffic impact analysis, microsimulation modeling, O-D and corridor studies, and developing data collection programs to support transportation studies
  • Prepare traffic study reports and deliverables
  • Coordinate and deal directly with clients
  • Periodically organize and lead fieldwork effort with internal staff teams
  • Assist in developing traffic scope of work and associated fee estimates and other business development efforts
  • Traffic Signal and/or intersection design experience is desired
  • ITS experience a plus
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BSCE required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • PE and/or PTOE desirable
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Planning principles and practices including NYC CEQR and Port Authority Standards a plus
  • AIMSUN/VISSIM experience desirable
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
