Job Summary:
At the direction of the Director of Physics, the Medical Physicist is an ABR/ABMP board eligible/certified Medical Physicist who will meet the overall clinical physics needs at Virtua Health. The Medical Physicist will provide clinical coverage to include Quality Assurance measures, treatment planning needs, special treatment procedures, advanced CT or 4DCT simulation, and implementing new treatment techniques and technology within the department and or program.
Position Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the clinical aspects of radiation therapy treatment planning and machine support including weekly chart checks, initial chart checks, planning support, 4DCT etc.
Will actively participate in the physics QA program, including but not limited to: CT-simulator, Brachytherapy, linear accelerator, and ancillary treatment hardware & software. Help in developing quality assurance policies & procedures, and play an active role in departmental quality and safety initiatives, such as daily morning huddle, chart rounds, staff meetings, quarterly QA meetings, etc.
Will participate in special treatment procedures such as, Stereotactic procedures (SRS, SRT and SBRT), HDR treatment planning, pre-treatment QA, treatment delivery supervision, etc.
Perform additional duties as assigned
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
Completion of a CAMPEP accredited residency program.
Required Education:
Master's Degree: Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics or Physics required
Training / Certification / Licensure:
Board-certified or Board-eligible for certification in Therapeutic Physics by the American Board of Radiology
Eligibility to be named as an Authorized Medical Physicist on an agreement state radioactive materials license for 10CFR 35.400 materials
