As a Manager, Data Science, you will play a pivotal role within the Data Science team. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, overseeing data science projects, and building innovative products.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the technical development of data science and machine learning capabilities across the commercial organization, including patient journey analytics using Real-World Data (RWD) sources, predictive modeling at patient and provider level, provider/account segmentation, targeting, and market mix optimization.
  • Lead a team of data scientists in designing, developing, and programing methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
  • Contribute directly to the development of sophisticated models and the more advanced data science deliverables and assist team in interpreting and communicating insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
  • Mentor team and ensure adherence to established coding and ML standards, and actively engage with source control and change management processes.
  • Be a though partner to business leaders regarding the development and application of data science products to our business.
  • Routinely Interact with product and service teams to identify opportunities for data driven solutions and experiments.
  • Have broad expertise or innovative knowledge, use skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Develop and maintain skills to the highest standards consistent with best practices and emerging trends in analytics and data science.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and career guidance to develop and retain talent.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Masters in a STEM field required, PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of data science experience with at least 1-2 years in a managerial role
  • Hands-on experience with a programming language (e.g., Python, R) and common machine learning frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in building/training/evaluating applied machine learning models.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams to deliver data science projects.
  • Able to influence and unify the direct team and peers, as well as interact effectively as a strategic partner with senior management.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Independent problem-solving and grit. Willingness to own one's work, and confidence to push best practices. Strong attention to detail.
  • Relevant work experience in healthcare or campaign measurement, marketing analytics and resource optimization in the pharma domain is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate data insights and data science concepts to senior technical and non-technical internal stakeholders and external clients.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $85,500 to $175,700. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
