Pershing X is a new start-up unit to incubate, engineer and deliver breakthrough solutions that will transform the advisory market. Pershing X will deliver the industry's leading end-to-end advisory platform, helping financial service firms solve the challenge of managing multiple and disconnected technology tools and data sets for their advisors and fuelling our clients' business growth. We are a collaborative and fast-growing team working on exciting and innovative digital product offerings.

Job Description:

The Portfolio Solutions, Sales and Client Success Specialist is responsible for pre-sales solutioning design, and ongoing post-sales consultation and engagement of a Pershing X client. Through strategic guidance and partnership, the Portfolio Solutions Sales and Client Success Team will ensure clients derive ROI from the platform, leading to overall adoption success, retention, and renewal. This role serves as a keystone for direct impact to Pershing X clients, growth of the company, and building an industry-leading brand. Portfolio Solutions Sales and Client Success Team will be responsible for building and managing deep understanding of our client businesses, solutioning for optimal platform utilization, and helping clients maximize the value they get from Pershing X Portfolio Solutions products, such as managed accounts, financial planning, trading and rebalancing, as well as broader enterprise offerings such as data, wealth reporting and more.

This role works closely with Relationship Management, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Service. The Portfolio Solutions Sales and Client Success Managers drive best practices and utilization of Portfolio Solutions and the Pershing X platform. Portfolio Solutions, Sales and Client Success Specialist Description:

The ideal candidate is comfortable working hands-on, is relentless about experience quality, loves to build, and is results oriented. You are inventive in the face of challenges, use your expertise to create client-centric solutions, and are driven to help your clients succeed.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the wealth management and investment management industry, specific to advisory products and platforms in use by firms and advisors to deliver portfolio management solutions such as SMA, UMA, Models programs, Rep as PM, etc. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to speak to the various solutions in the marketplace for trading and rebalancing, financial planning, TAMP providers, as well as lending and other financial solutions platforms.

Responsibilities:

Develop a core understanding of the Pershing X business, its strategy and its products and services.

Identify and qualify prospective clients, support lead generation and conversion opportunities for incremental revenue growth.

Build and cultivate long-term relationships with prospects and clients; connecting broadly with key business executives as well as managing deep vertical connectivity to the power users utilizing the platform to provide consultative sales and solutioning.

Develop a deep understanding of your clients' business requirements, industry challenges and goals coupled with a strong understanding of how they are using their Pershing X solutions to maximize their adoption, growth, and ensuring account retention. Serve as the solution architect/consultant for the Portfolio Solutions product suite.

Drive the vision and strategy for scalable, deeper client engagement through synergistic alignment efforts, thought leadership, training and other value-additive engagements.

Build a repository of collateral for best practices for adoption; crafting success and experience metrics for your client base; and collaborating with cross-functional Pershing X teams to develop and elevate the Pershing X standard.

Provide strategic oversight during the entire client journey including sales, implementation, optimization, growth, renewal and ensure a seamless handover of knowledge and responsibilities to internal partners and clients where appropriate:

  • During implementation lead change management, partner with the implementation group on implementation strategy, and collaborate on training and operating model conversations with clients
  • Develop success plans with clients and the Pershing Relationship Management team, including KPIs for platform utilization
  • Drive adoption of the platform and provide continuous education to clients on the routine release enhancements to the software

Confidently discuss opportunities for Pershing X Portfolio Solutions and best practices in a way that influences internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes from pre-sales to post-sales engagement.

  • Assist in the identification of new revenue opportunities for the client and participate in presentations to clients.
  • Understanding contractual commitments and opportunities for additional revenue for incumbent clients, anticipate areas for deeper engagement and client needs, and manage opportunities to bring Pershing X solutions to the client.
  • Influence Pershing X roadmap enhancements and innovation through client needs identification, competitive intelligence, and market factors.
  • Serve as the voice of the client to Product Management, Product Marketing, Operations, and more...building a strong working relationship with each to ensure client success and awareness of client experience for the Portfolio Solutions product suite.
  • Host prospective client demos and meetings.

Develop/maintain technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends.

Experience:

7+ years in a client-facing role, ideally with sales and/or customer success experience preferably in the managed accounts or wealth management industry, and experience working with a technical product.

Experience supporting portfolio management solutions such as SMA, UMA, Models programs, Rep as PM, etc. through sales, client service, operations, product consulting, product management or vendor management.

Experience working with or for industry platforms in the marketplace for trading and rebalancing, financial planning, TAMP providers, as well as lending and other financial solutions platforms (insurance, annuities, etc.).

History of success as a consultant, pre-sales, technical account manager, business manager or equivalent driving change management and adoption efforts

Experience building and maximizing relationships with key influencers, decision makers, and power users; executive presence and ability to successfully navigate and persuade all levels of an organization up to C-level; You have handled difficult customers or situations and can demonstrate resolutions

Proven track record of translating business needs into technical utilization of available product solutions

Track record of managing large, complex projects and/or programs

Experience building scale through process and operations

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Very organized with high attention to detail & prioritization management skills

Must work within a team environment with cross functional Pershing X teams

Strong understanding of how to navigate complex organizations

Ability to navigate process, data, and people to find answers

The motivation to work in a fast-paced environment; willingness and initiative to take on projects and initiatives independently

Hybrid Work/Work from Home

Start-up work experience preferred

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Travel required sporadically for meetings and events

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $79,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
