How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Reporting to the Global Quality Engineering Director, the Supplier Quality Specialist will achieve ALAM goals in the areas of manufacturing quality, technology advancement, productivity, off-spec elimination, non-conformance elimination, customer satisfaction, and cost reduction.
This role will not have direct reports.

The Supplier Quality Manager will work collaboratively across multi functions to improve supplier quality relationships and evolve supplier quality processes that are mutually beneficial for ALAM and the supplier. The improvements in quality processes should align with ALAM customer quality requirements to foster a consistent and robust supply chain.
  • Grow quality strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers, to foster trust and ensure quality relevant change is fully transparent between the supplier and ALAM
  • Work collaboratively across multi functions to understand customer quality supplier expectations and develop a strategy that aligns with the stage gate product evolution.

  • Develop and manage the Quality infrastructure necessary to have a robust supply chain process from suppliers to meet not only ALAM expectations but end user/customer expectations.

  • Digest supplier audit findings and communicate effectively quality critical focus areas that are mutually beneficial for ALAM and the supplier. Working collaboratively to ensure these areas are implemented

  • Lead the evaluation of quality for new supplier and toll manufacturing companies for existing and new products. Work with supply chain members to audit, evaluate, develop and monitor our supply chain vendor performance to meet our needs and the needs of the electronic chemical Industry.

  • Work regularly with PM's and site quality teams swiftly, to address off spec material. Including leading 8d investigations, and working with vendors and internal sites to implement corrective actions to mitigate future risks.

  • Identify high risk quality supply areas and work collaboratively to engage engineering, operations and business support to ensure our manufacturing processes or supplier processes are designed to accommodate these high risk areas.

  • Lead the supplier and internal audit program. Ensure best practices are implemented and lead quality continuous improvement projects to ensure compliance. Including writing, revising and the review of work instructions, training tools, and automated systems

  • Travel required to global supplier base, toll manufacturing facilities and ALAM sites.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a preference of Science or Engineering

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

  • An understanding of statistical analysis and quantitative problem solving tools and methods.

  • Proven track record of delivering on commitments

  • Proven ability to lead change, personally adaptable, and able to perform well under pressure and constantly changing priorities

  • Solution/outcome oriented in an environment with minimal supervision

  • Problem solving and decision making skills

  • Experience in FMEA's or other relevant risk ranking tools

  • Auditing experience and the ability to travel 30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Green Belt certification or higher

  • Experience in setting up systems and statistical methodologies to evaluate control limit data and experience in statistical evaluations

  • Depth of knowledge and experience in one or more quality software systems (ERP, LIMs, Statistical Analysis Software)

  • Certified ISO 9001 auditor and/or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor
