PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Senior Analyst of FP&A will provide support and lead work streams in the Bank's FP&A Department. The role will be responsible for running the day-to-day elements of the annual budget, monthly budget vs actual process, periodic re-forecasting processes, establishing a repeatable profitability measurement and reporting process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Budget and Forecasting
    1. Assist in the accumulation and analysis of data for the annual budget and re-forecast. Work directly with budget stakeholders to formulate and approve annual budgets.
    2. Develop innovative ways to more accurate forecast and budget revenues and costs for stakeholders.
    3. Analyze and interpret actual financial performance versus plan and expected growth and present observations/reporting to management. Assist in facilitation of budget vs actual meetings with budget stakeholders.
    4. Build and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts to support short-term and long-term strategic planning.
    5. Assist in driving business insights by finding opportunities to identify and implement value-adding strategies on an ad-hoc basis.
    6. Maintain Budget and Profitability system including set up and review of user access, reports, hierarchy structures, general ledger balances and any necessary upgrades.
  2. Investor Relations
    1. Assist in the preparation of quarterly investor presentations and implement improvement / efficiencies in this process.
    2. Assist in coordinating all quarterly and annual reporting requirements with our FP&A counterparties and accounting.
  3. Business Partnership and Strategy
    1. Assist in maintaining and reviewing profitability reports by business line and/or product line.
    2. Establish a deep understanding of the business and leverage data to build insights about our markets, products and competitors.
    3. Support opportunity evaluation, financial modeling and business case creation.
    4. Ability to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels and facilitate discussions & debates
  4. Other
    1. Performs other duties as required by management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Mastery of Excel and Power Point, expected skill set beyond pivot tables and VLOOKUP statements.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with others and communicate effectively in meetings.
  • Must possess excellent analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Hard-working and flexible with excellent attention to detail and ability to implement change / improvements.
  • Well organized with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and expeditiously.
  • Proactive, high-energy with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Relies on operational and theoretical experience to plan and accomplish tasks.
  • Performs a variety of responsible tasks working under general supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in order to meet processing deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines.

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting, finance, consulting, or financial planning & analysis experience, Big 4 experience a plus
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA / CPA / CFA is a plus.
  • This position also requires a thorough knowledge of accounting practices along with very strong analytical and technical skills with superior aptitude for figures.

  • External contacts are occasional.
  • Frequent internal contacts with department managers and senior management.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Flex office / work from home environment. Ability to operate computer. Ability to communicate in order to exchange simple to complex information with individuals and groups. Ability to travel throughout Bank footprint.
