Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Department of Biomedical Engineering is currently looking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate who will be working with Dr. Anandi Krishnan. Overall objective of the research is to uncover cross-functional roles of platelets (and parent megakaryocytes) in disease settings beyond their classical role in hemostasis and thrombosis (e.g. cancer, inflammation, infection). Research strategies include integrating multi-omics discovery with molecular, cellular and in vivo approaches. Immediate research goals are in mechanistic characterization as well as clinical laboratory validation of platelet multi-omic signatures derived from diverse patient cohorts. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | PhD in a relevant field (e.g. genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, or related field) Strong background in molecular biology techniques and cell culture. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and keen attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and contribute to a positive lab culture Preferred but not required: Experience with flow cytometry, lentivirus production, and mouse models preferred. Prior experience with hematopoietic cells and/or platelet biology. Knowledge of CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology and its applications. |
