Job Description

The Leader, U.S. DC/LSP Operations has oversight and coordination of the overall U.S. Warehousing teams, costs and operation with 8 internal warehouses and 3 outsourced sites. The incumbent supervises the warehouse operations to achieve best in class services to customers at standards aligned with the business, performance and costs targets. S/he manages a team with a high focus on customer performance and publishes the required dashboards and metrics that allow them to monitor the activities and improve costs in line with budgets. The Leader challenges the current situation and actively supports projects and continuous improvements, while systematically ensuring alignment with the Global Logistics policy, processes and best practices.

  • Continuously adapt and improve the U.S. DC/LSP organization within Zoetis sites and 3PL.
  • Ensure best in class service level to customers and smoothen the logistics process to provide flawless order and delivery service.
  • Develop new services for the different channels.
  • Manage the LSPs to obtain best in class service at competitive rates: set up and compile shared procedures and practices, challenge and compare the processes and organizational systems, to come to a shared smooth and centrally monitored set-up.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor KPI's and measurement tools to follow-up on activities and performance to ensure control and allow for rapid intervention for any sudden issues. Examples of key metrics include:
    • Budget commitment
    • Warehouse cost decrease
    • On time order shipments
    • Cost to serve
    • Quality rate
    • Customer claims (distribution and customer service)
    • Order lead time reduction by channel
    • Stock accuracy in the DCs
    • Co-packing productivity when done in the DCs
    • Colleague feedback
  • Develop benchmarks and best practice sharing with other similar companies, aiming to improve and challenge our current way of working and/or to set up shared practices.
  • Continuously strive for cost savings and better/less expensive ways to manage our operations, through auditing, challenging, and benchmarking with other 3PL companies and services.
  • Promote Logistics and Supply Chain services to internal and external customers; Interface and communicate to better understand and manage their needs.
  • Negotiate contracts with service providers and set up and agree upon SOP's and Procedures, assuring stable operations, quality, and clear-cut cost agreements.
  • Manage the Budget for Operations, interpret all internal and external factors and potential savings to come to a clear cut and realistic cost projection; monitor on a monthly basis through cost dashboards.
  • Acquire and develop talent within the Zoetis U.S. SCL team.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 7-10 years' warehouse / distribution experience in a GMP environment
  • APICS Certification preferred or affiliation with other Supply Chain related organization

  • Autonomy (self-managing priorities, reporting and escalating to manager in another country / culture)
  • Knowledge/Use of Lean Six Sigma/Operational Excellence methodology and tools is preferable
  • Excellent knowledge of Warehouse technology (automation, CMS, WMS, RFID)
  • APICS certification or related certification is preferred
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Assertiveness, prioritizing skills, multi-tasking capabilities
  • Advanced computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel to U.S. Distribution Centers, LSPs, and Corporate office as needed

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (Colorado). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $197,000 - $283,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (California), (NJ Remote), (NY Remote), or (Washington). Base pay may vary based on location and
other factors.

Base Pay Range: $223,000 - $320,000

This position is eligible for short-term incentive compensation. The position is also eligible for long-term incentive.
