Position Summary:
The Process Engineer located in Pitman, NJ works hands-on with customers from different industries. Unlike a traditional process engineering position in a manufacturing facility that makes products within a certain family, a process engineer at Coperion is exposed to new processes weekly. These processes include production of technical polymer compounds, electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries, recycling of post-consumer/post-industrial plastics, and many more in the polymers, chemicals, food, and pharmaceutical markets. The process engineer will engage directly with customers to design and conduct pilot-scale experiments in our on-site Extrusion Laboratory and apply learnings from these tests to design and configure production-scale machinery. The typical cycle lasts 2-3 months from initial contact to test report completion. Occasionally, the engineer will be responsible for field support or startup of a machine that was sold from a test.
