Job Description

The Finance Manager - US Petcare C&S and Retail will be part of the US Commercial Finance team and will report to the Finance Lead - US Petcare C&S and Retail. The job responsibilities will consist of the following, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring, tracking, and reporting business performance across key therapeutic areas with proactive identification of issues, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reporting (revenue, gross margin, and operating expenses); perform supporting analysis to explain underlying business dynamics and results
  • Support finance team with close processes including operating expense analysis, gross to net accruals and payments, and other P&L line items, and preparing materials for financial review with senior leadership
  • Assist with required forecasts and Annual Operating Plan submission including report generation, template management, input of revenue and operating expense forecast into Anaplan tool, analysis of forecast submission across all aspects of the P&L and working with marketing teams on their forecast submissions
  • Financial analysis and decision support in various areas including marketing & promotional programs, customer contracts, operating expense Return on Investment (ROI), optimal allocation of resources, process improvements, integration or divestment of businesses
  • Support building of P&Ls for key partners and retailers to evaluate customers profitability to enable efficient use of company's investments
  • Serve as the Petcare C&S and Retail Finance point of contact across the organization, including but not limited to Petcare C&S and Retail commercial teams, US Controllers, Net Revenue Management, US Customer Operations
  • As a member of the US Commercial Finance team, this role will also support various US Operations and US Commercial Finance cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with existing and established company internal controls, and financial polices procedures
  • Support the Finance Lead in the evaluation of customers' contracts and efforts to optimize GtN investments

Educational requirements and job experience:

  • 5-7 years work experience in a corporation in a financial planning and analysis function with strong track records of commercial business partnering
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or economics
  • MBA is a plus; CPA is a plus but not required
  • Prior experience in commercial FP&A required

  • Solid understanding of financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial systems, and processes (SAP, Essbase, Anaplan)
  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet software (EXCEL) and PowerPoint
