Overview

Brief Summary:

Internships are professional experiences that students participate in to gain professional skills and experiences. Internships are structured as learning experiences that combine in-class theory with real-world applications. A valid experience for Human Resources majors is an internship or co-op that requires skills and knowledge obtained from HR courses. The HR internship involves supporting the HR function in setting up an electronic employee file module in UKG.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

    Configure electronic employee file structure in UKG employee document module
  • Move current electronic employee files into UKG's employee document module
  • Scan paper files at the New Jersey location
  • Assign scanned files to appropriate locations in UKG's employee document module
  • Update employee records with awards & certifications that employees have received.
  • Timeliness and regular attendance are required
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to utilize general office equipment with limited instructions, including photocopier, fax machine, calculator, etc.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to handle a variety of projects and responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team

Education/Experience:

High school student or above, with an interest in HR functions.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and operate office equipment such as a copier; ability to see details at a close range; ability to sit at desk or PC for long periods of time; work in office setting.
