Director, Payer Strategies

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Payer Strategies is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the payer strategies department within the organization. This includes developing and implementing strategies to optimize managed care contracts, negotiating with payers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Director of Payer Strategies will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall financial performance of the organization. Working closely with the Revenue Cycle leadership, the Director of Payer Strategies will be responsible for high-level decision support analyses and financial and contractual modeling, negotiating contract terms with managed care payers, developing managed care agreement financial proposals, management of escalated claims issues, implementation and management of managed care contracts, working with the payors to resolve contract and related operational issues.

EDUCATION:

BA / BS education minimum requirement. Master's Degree Preferred.



EXPERIENCE:
7 or more years of managed care contracting, and negotiation or related experience required. Revenue cycle experience and financial analysis experience, required. Must have advanced knowledge of healthcare, managed care systems, HMO marketplace and market trends. Comprehensive understanding of varied reimbursement methodologies including Hospital, Physician and Home Care payment methods and risk and shared savings based methodologies. Advanced knowledge of contract related activities including: negotiations, legal, regulatory, operational, finance, and relationship management. system experience preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills Strong written communications skills Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills are required Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required Advanced communication and analytical skills required to develop positive working relationships both internally and externally
