Title: Director of IT

THE ROLE:
We are a seeking a Director of IT who can build our overall technology strategy, vision, and roadmap in alignment with our business strategy. This person will play a critical role in identifying, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting scalable, cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic leader that can play a dual role as a strategic visionary as well as a hands-on technical manager for systems, applications, and networks within the organization. The ideal candidate must be both able and willing to "lead" and to "do".


WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Develop and implement strategy that helps a globally distributed fast-growing team navigate the competing needs to move quickly and flexibly while also keeping security top of mind.
  • Assist in building enduring relationships with customers, both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of current and future information technology systems.
  • Manage IT outsourcing contracts and their SLA (Colocation, Support 2nd. level, etc.).
  • Assist with the implementation of IT standards (i.e.: ITIL v4, ISO IEC27001/2), audit requests, best practices, policies, and KPIs as they relate to North America.
  • Develop and deploy security information controls according to the company policy, including hardware, software, and awareness campaigns.
  • Architecture and support of database systems and BI environment.
  • Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget while controlling budget and reporting on expenditure.
  • Assist in developing strategic roadmaps and cost/benefit analyses for all enterprise applications and infrastructure for North America.
  • Hire, develop, and performance manage a small but growing team of experienced IT professionals.
  • Develop, maintain, and follow IT user onboarding and security procedures and information security policies.
  • Participate in UAT for any application and IT infrastructure releases and implementations.
  • Vendor and procurement management for selected IT products/services.
  • Oversee Risk/BCP/DR for the North American IT environment.
  • Assist with information security assessments and audits; provide recommendations to mitigate risk.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree would be a plus.
  • 15+ years of career experience in technology, including a minimum of 7+ years in a leadership position.
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, application development, BI platforms, CRM, and ERP Systems (experience with SAP Business One would be a major plus).
  • Knowledge of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to create a clear strategic vision for information technology and execute that vision to support business objectives.
  • Proven skills in support and managing IT environments within small-medium sized organizations.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high growth organization with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Knowledge of a range of vendor technology solutions; ability to select and integrate the most appropriate technologies to support the business.
  • Willingness to provide all-encompassing user IT support and troubleshooting, from desktop/laptop to cloud/server and network.
  • Ability to lead security.
  • Experience with IT solutioning, procurement, budgeting, and strategy.
  • Security certification including CISA, CISM, CRISC, CIPP/US are a plus.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
