Director, IT Business Partner

The Director, Technology Business Partner is responsible for leading the delivery of technology product implementation, at a program level. An effective Director, Technology Business Partner will lead the cross functional technology and operational teams through scoping, planning, execution and hyper care monitoring of approved portfolio projects that support the Deployment Solutions business unit.

Directs delivery of projects in defined area; ensuring projects are completed at or ahead of schedule, costs are managed to budget, and customer expectations are exceeded. Report project status and other relevant business metrics to client/management.

The Director, Technology Business Partner must be able to operate with limited oversight and will need to gain the respect of and drive a collaborative environment with a broad range of business and technology stakeholders at many levels across the organization.

The responsibilities of this position include direction, oversight, execution and monitoring of the team who is developing requirements and the related requirements gathering process and documentation to support new technology implementations, continuous improvement initiatives and existing client expansion projects that are administered by the Business Technology organization, including facilitation of requirements gathering with the Business Partner team, business Subject Matter Experts and business leadership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving, planning and overseeing execution of complex business system transformation, data integration, business insights and analytics development projects.
  • Managing large ($10M+) portfolio of technology investments - includes budget, timelines and scope management.
  • Delivers projects to align with critical success and quality factors as designated by Senior Executive level business stakeholders
  • Gaining participation from and motivating complex cross functional and matrixed teams (including vendors and sub-contractors) to deliver enterprise system level programs.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage individual project and enterprise-wide scopes of work.
  • Creates strong client relationships and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Delivers excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Competency in leading multi-faceted technology team through project management, requirements development, data management processes, software solution design, business process flow optimization, application software implementation, testing practices and technology training disciplines.
  • Assess the costs and benefits of new projects and justify funding on projects to top executives.
  • Plan and direct the work of other technology team professionals.
  • Negotiate with vendors to get the highest level of service for their organization's technology.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Required

* BA/BS or equivalent experience.

* Previous experience managing small team of direct reports

* 10+ years of experience in an equivalent role in the Commercial side of the pharmaceutical industry, involved with technology project delivery

* Extensive broad technology experience, 5+ years of experience in IT PM, BA or similar role by function.

* High level knowledge of enterprise IT organizational, business and technical environments.

* Ability to travel ~ up to 20%

Preferred

* Formal project management training, Exposure to the PMI methodology.

* Experience working with Multi/ Omni Channel and Data Integration projects, especially in pharmaceutical industry.
