Job Summary

We are seeking a Benefits Director to act as the subject matter expert in design and delivery in support of the organization's overall benefits strategy. The Benefits Director oversees both the day-to-day administration of our benefit programs as well as the strategic overview of the plans. Designs, implements, administers, and evaluates group medical, dental, prescription, disability, and life plans for employees of Benjamin Moore & Co. Ensures that the organization remains competitive in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

Drive the continued overall design, administration, delivery, and support of the organization's benefits programs and related procedures to ensure successful adoption and compliance with all applicable laws and to maximize employee satisfaction.

Continually evaluate existing benefits programs and processes using competitive data, industry trends, and cost analysis; make recommendations for enhancements or improvements in support of strategic initiatives or as triggered by changes to available environments, regulation, technology, tools, or business needs.

Serve as lead on the Benefits Committee and as the subject matter expert; act as an internal benefits consultant and educator to employees, HR Business Partners, and others.

Responsible for leading the Benefits and Payroll teams; grow and engage employees aligned to our strategic pillar; create an inclusive environment for all; coach team to build capability for future needs.

Maintain a continuous knowledge of competitive benefits and trends, and a clear understanding of the integration with other groups (e.g. HRIS, payroll, accounting, etc.)

Responsible for the development of the annual Benefits operating budget and ongoing monitoring to identify variances and underlying causes.

Oversee the contracts for all vendors and manages the RFP process for new contracts and renewals with the Procurement and Legal groups.

Develops benefit program communication campaigns, including direction of preparation and distribution of communication materials, including electronic communication, and plans management and employee meetings.

Responsible for evaluating, selecting, and directing benefits consultants, actuaries, brokers, and necessary legal counsel.

Provides assistance in resolving Benefits issues with both employees and providers.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in benefits design and administration with 5 years in a management-level position.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.

Demonstrated leadership skills

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of employees, management, outside benefits professionals (insurance contacts, TPA, actuaries), legal counsel and regulatory agencies.

Deals with ambiguity and can change directions when needed

Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present employee information and data accurately and with attention to detail

Critical thinker with strong time-management, organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines

Must be flexible and a strong team player

Sound public speaking skills
