Job Purpose and Overview

The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for all facets of maintenance inventory management, and planning/scheduling maintenance activities using onsite programs at Dawn Foods, Louisville. The role will leverage their technical knowledge to anticipate and eliminate potential delays by planning/coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials and equipment access. This role will ensure critical items are in stock and make necessary requisitions when minimum levels are reached. The coordinator shall support and promote EHS procedures and policies and lead plant safety culture initiatives through their maintenance scheduling activities. This team member will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM; Occasional Weekend Work

What will you do as a Maintenance Coordinatorat Dawn Foods?

  • Utilize CMMS, prepare weekly and daily work schedules by working closely with Production leaders, schedulers, contractors and supervisor/managers.
  • Obtain information for materials and equipment required, including lead times, request quotes and order materials. Coordinate and communicate the details of materials, services, and tools to optimize Plan Execution.
  • Perform job duties in a manner that follow food safety and quality guidelines including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control.
  • Review work order feedback information to improve future planning efforts.
  • Develop and / or modify preventive maintenance programs based on OEM recommendations, root cause analysis results, and learnings from the maintenance team.
  • Be the CMMS Super User who understands all aspects of the system and can train other team members.
  • Create and track KPI's by running reports from the CMMS.
  • Own the Asset Hierarchy by identifying all assets and children's assets in the CMMS.
  • Manage work order backlog by handling long - and short-term planning.
  • In partnership with the Maintenance Manager, assist in the development and optimization of preventive maintenance routines for all areas of the plant.
  • Assists maintenance and production management in periodically analyzing costs and, where necessary recommend corrective action needed to reduce maintenance costs. Identify and implement cost saving ideas in maintaining the plant by managing the preventive maintenance program for the production lines and building maintenance.
  • Maintain documentation necessary for operations including tracking work orders, requisitions, activity reports and daily logbook.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Clerk to receive parts into inventory and ensure all parts required to support maintenance activities are in stock and allocated before work is scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Does It Take to be a Maintenance Coordinator at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

  • Highschool or GED is required.
  • Minimum five years of mechanical work is preferred (mechanical/electrical/instrumentation experience)
  • 2-4 years of established maintenance planner/scheduler experience needed
  • Trade school, mechanical certification is highly recommended.
  • Manufacturing environment experience would be a plus!
  • Must be able to have a strong understanding of technical verbiage and high ability to problem solve.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to communicate to different people, outside and inside Dawn Foods.
  • Able to work as a team or independently to get the job done consistently each day.
  • Strong technical knowledge with CMMS system experience, preferably SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawing.
  • Ability to change direction or work at a moment's notice, work under pressure easily.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Must be able to work with a wide array of hand and precision tools.
  • Temperature fluctuates with the season - colder during the winter/warmer during the summer- work includes indoor and outdoor work.
  • Working around heavy machinery - hearing protection required in production area

Compensation: $56,600 - $84,910 Annually
