The Supervisor of the Cognitive Rehabilitation Program supervises and coordinates all operational functions of the department and works with the Director of Neuropsychology to manage overall department operations and program development and evaluation. Coordinates efforts to manage patient admission and ongoing authorization of clients in the program. Maintains census information; maintains appropriate staffing; ensures compliance with professional regulations and certifications such as CARF and JCAHO; participates in all performance improvement measures and provides supervision to departmental team members. Performs other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

The position duties include overall management of the day to day operations of the Cognitive Rehabilitation Department including referrals, scheduling, authorizations and billing. Responsible for departmental Performance Improvement and Business Development activities. Responsible for ensuring the program meets all regulatory and CARF requirements for accreditation. Responsible for the development and compliance of clinical and non-clinical departmental procedures.Reports to the Administrative Director for the Center for Brain Injury and works in collaboration with Program Supervisor/Case Manager and Director of Neuropsychology.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of the Supervisor of the Cognitive Rehabiliation Program includes:

1. Maintains and monitors all data related to daily operations of the program.
2. Implements and monitors performance improvement, quality assurance, and utilization review procedures.
3. Maintains and monitors staff productivity information.
4. Ensures compliance with JCAHO and CARF standards.
5. Coordinates clinical and financial information regarding admissions to the program.
6. Monitors patient financial status and impact on clinical services.
7. Participates in program development and program evaluation that supports directives and initiatives of the department.
8. Provides day to day supervision to program staff including all performance related activities and onboarding activities.
9. Monitors staff FTE's and productivity.
10. Represents department and institution to other professional and consumer organizations.
11. Provides clinical direction and support for the department's mission.
12. Serves as a clinical professional role model for staff and promotes interdisciplinary cooperation.
13. May provide direct case management services to clients in the program.
14. Demonstrates strong knowledge of reimbursement issues and their impact on clinical care.
15. Coordinates clinical treatment schedules.
16. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
17. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Master's Degree in the relevant health management field or business management field.
2. Minimum 5 years experience in rehabilitation setting.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Brain Injury experience.
