Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Flawless Quality

o Develop, lead, standardize, execute processes and/or strategies to drive the operational sites within the NAM region to the SEE Flawless Quality standard for all critical Quality KPIs - External PPM, Internal Spoilage, Blocked Stock, Intercompany Defects. Optimize tracking, documentation, and reporting for each.
o Lead the plants in achieving defined defect reduction goals in the short-term with a vision and plan to achieve sustained best in class PPM performance in the near future
o Assess, implement, and continuously improve all critical components of the Quality Management System through the review of existing Standards for Quality Tools / Equipment / and Testing protocols. Establish new Quality Standards for any gaps identified.
o Act as the regional lead and driver for Global QMS utilization via the ETQ tool
o Lead all aspects of Quality data input /output / control / process tied into the Performance Management System (PMS) procedures. This will include tools to reduce defects, reduce scrap, analyze capacity, and improve throughput, and overall plant effectiveness/profitability.
o Identify and implement Engineering Controls for error proofing and lead the implementation of these systems across the Region.
o Ensure that we have a well-defined system for 3rd Party Manufacturers and consistent quality that parallels our internal manufactured quality.

Manage Emerging/Major Issues

o Manage historical, current, or new/emerging Quality issue escalations to ensure the appropriate resource engagement, awareness, prioritization, and coordination to meet critical milestones for the business.
o Act as the regional representative for Quality on any major supply chain-impacting Quality performance issues; ensure support provided in the form of: issue leader, team member, technical advisor, project manager, roadblock remover, etc
o Ensure appropriate alignment and organization of Quality issues within the Quality PMO process (ie 8D)
o Drive iterative problem-solving approach through aggressive pursuit of Global Reoccurrence Prevention for issues impacting multiple manufacturing facilities

Quality Leadership

o Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the Quality function and Quality Management System for the North America region. This includes indirect leadership of the site Quality managers.
o Ensure Quality is prioritized within the Regional Supply Chain team by aligning Customer Requirements with existing business objectives and capability
o Participate in identifying Internal Quality talent for developing with Senior Quality leaders and give direct feedback to the sites when necessary.
o Teach and mentor Quality improvement projects using 6S DMAIC principles (ie 8D, ANOVA, Process Mapping, etc)
o Partner with and drive relationship with the Commercial functions - Sales, Portfolio Management

Qualifications


* Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline required
* Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, preferably in manufacturing
* Advanced Change Agent skills and excellence in global implementation of process and process change.
* Proven track record in leading a regional team of professionals to achieve significant step change improvements against predefined goals.
* Expertise in Lean Six Sigma techniques (Black Belt preferred) and CI methodologies
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to organize 'activities" into actions, projects, or larger-scale initiatives
* Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate, develop, and support a broad team with varied priorities
* Ability to influence others without formal authority
* Ability to work well cross-functionally with groups in all areas of the business
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) required
* Experience with plastics manufacturing, extrusion, printing, or converting preferred
* In-depth knowledge of Quality Systems and its implementation in a multi-site global network
* Demonstrated skills in both written and verbal communications across a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Key is the ability to effectively influence Quality technical professionals and Site / Region SC Leadership.

Travel Expectations:
* Moderate travel will be required for this position within the U.S. and possibly internationally.
* Travel requirements up to 50-75%
