Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our client in Cape Canaveral, FL. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The 5 Axis Programmer and Machinist is responsible for interpreting Technical Drawings and setting up metal working processes work holding fixtures, process steps, equipment and tooling selection, and running machinery by quality standards.
  • Interpret technical drawings and use knowledge to set up metal working processes, work holding fixtures, process steps, equipment, and tooling selection.
  • Write programs on 2&3 - 5 axis machines using Mastercam.
  • Setup and prove out processes on 5 Axis CNC Mazak & Haas machines.
  • This is all low volume/high mix machined parts.
  • Fabricate dies, jigs, and fixtures for workpiece orientation or work holding.
  • Monitor CNC processes and implement proactive solutions process improvements, line flow, quality, efficiency
  • Develop machine set-ups, program edits, and working with tolerances to +/- .0001'
  • Measurement and inspection of parts using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and various other inspection equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 / hr.

Hours: 40 hrs/Week

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in 5 (3+2-axis) CNC programming and machining using Mastercam Software
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Mazak & Haas machining centers.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in high-speed machining and tool path optimization

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with the programming of several other CNC Milling centers and controls (Fanuc/Mazatrol/Heidenhain.
  • Complete working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and proficient in reading/understanding part manufacturing drawings
  • Ability to read CAD models and 2-D prints and update paperwork neatly, accurately, and in an organized manner
  • Possess troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Able to work independently, but also demonstrate an ability to work productively within a team environment.
  • Flexible, ability to work in a fast-paced pace constantly changing environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work with and provide feedback to various departments and customers within the shop and externally.

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

  • Capable of bending, reaching, and lifting objects weighing up to 35 lbs
