Reports To: President, Teknion LLC


Position Summary

Serves as dealer main point of contact as it relates to dealer performance, understanding capabilities, leading strategy alignment and growth opportunities. Develops and implements dealer-related strategic plans, performance objectives and goals to meet corporate objectives and increase market share. Manage the annual dealer planning process in conjunction with regional leadership.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage /direct dealer additions, terminations and overall dealer relationships.

  • Develop programs to enhance the overall dealer network; attract and retain quality dealers (leasing, inter-market, business planning, rebates, showroom)

  • Develop dealer plans to support top tier dealer growth.

  • Understand and plan for growth of second tier dealers.

  • Ensure completion of required business-related documents with all dealers.

  • Update and manage dealer agreements annually.

  • Manage and maintain dealer programs and rewards initiatives.

  • Partner with Teknion sales force in maximizing dealer relationships and share of wallet.

  • Participate in the annual planning and quarterly review session for key dealers.

  • Provide guidance to Teknion sales leaders and salesforce on the growth and development of dealer networks within the assigned area.

  • Maintains a network of potential owners, leaders, and consultants to support transitions.

  • Contribute to the development of market coverage strategies and execution of dealer improvement initiatives.

  • Understand Teknion's overall growth strategy to promote and hold dealer partners accountable for market goals (i.e.: Architectural Interiors).

    • Explore alternate business models that increase opportunities for growth outside of the traditional dealer partner model.

  • Assist in the development of materials used to support targeting new distribution partners.

  • Develop and maintain effective dealer onboarding plan to support sales and operations.

  • Enhance dealer communications related to internal programs that enhance the overall efficiency of the business (i.e.: OnePlace applications and learning tools)

  • Support and participate in new and ongoing dealer training programs.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of the dealer conference.

  • Works with dealer owners to develop ownership succession plans and facilitate the execution, ensuring that each transition results in a successful exit for the outgoing partner and Teknion, contributes to the evaluation of potential new owners and coordinating structured onboarding of new partners.

  • Various duties as requested by Leadership Team.

  • Manage within Corporate Budget.

  • Prompt, reliable and regular attendance.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience, Skill and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years of business experience with 5+ years in contract furniture (Manufacturing and/or Dealer level)

    • Channel management experience required.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, strategic, and communication skills, team player and consensus builder.

  • Skilled at handling complex, and at times contentious, business issues involving a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong project/program development background.

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships based on trust and integrity with dealers and internal leaders and employees.

  • Roll up your sleeves work style and proven problem-solver.

  • Able to promote ideas and influence stakeholders in a highly sensitive environment.

  • Must be a team player and business partner who is open, communicative, and committed to the overall success of the organization.

  • Entrepreneurial in nature and able to achieve results by influencing others.


Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel 50+%

Quantitative Data

  • Manage a dealer network of approx. 120 dealers.
